and yet another reason why Fae & Iggy are spoiled:

it's huge! we refer to it as their "palace". as you may have noticed, their "castle" is now out in the cat enclosure. i was against getting them something so expensive and fancy since we just bought the enclosure, but the other human insisted that we should. they get spoiled by both of us humans!

ĝi estas giganta! ni nomas ĝin ilia "palaco". eble vi jam ĉi tion rimarkis, sed ilia "kastelo" nun troviĝas en la kat-fermitejo. mi ne volas aĉeti ion tiel multekosta kaj pompa ĉar ni ĵus aĉetis la fermitejon, sed la alia homo insistis, ke ni ĝin aĉetu. ambaŭ ni homoj trodorlotegadas ilin!

people have offhandedly commented about our cats being spoiled and i've always disagreed saying that we just treat them like they should be treated. however. i'm afraid that now i have to agree with those people... Fae and Iggy ARE spoiled. if you haven't thought Fae & Iggy spoiled, you will after reading these next couple of posts!

homoj hazarde rimarkas, ke ni trodorlotas niajn katojn kaj ĉiam mi malkonsentante diras, ke ni simple traktas ilin kiel oni traktu katojn. tamen. bedaŭrinde nun mi devas konsenti al tiuj homoj... ni JA trodorlotas Fae kaj Iggy. se vi ankoraŭ ne opinias, ke ni trodorlotas Fae k Iggy, vi ja tiel opinios post legi la sekvajn kelkajn blogaĵojn!

a week+ ago we bought and assembled an outdoor cat enclosure made locally by AusKatz. we had been wanting to get an enclosure for a while, especially after seeing how Fae & Iggy liked being outdoors during our trip to Singapore, but they were/are expensive + we live in an apartment with only a balcony. we had decided to hold off on getting one, but when things started getting messy between us and the real estate agency (long story) we decided to go ahead and get one as maybe it would help solve part of the problem.

antaŭ unu+ semajno ni aĉetis kaj kunigis eksteran fermitejo(?) por katoj, kiu estis farita de la loka firmo AusKatz. ni delonge deziras aĉeti fermitejon, precipe post ni vidis kiel multe Fae k Iggy ŝatis esti ekstere dum nia vojaĝo al Singapuro. tamen, fermitejoj estas multekostaj + ni loĝas en apartamento, kiu havas nur balkonon, do ni decidis atendi por ĝin aĉeti. malgraŭ tio, lastatempe ni decidis ke eble ni ja fermitejon aĉetu ĉar lastatempe okazis iom da dramo inter ni kaj la administrantoj de nia apartamento. ni pensis, ke eble fermitejo povus solvi almenaŭ unu parton de la problemo. 

it took a little time for them to warm up to the enclosure... especially for Fae who doesn't seem to respond well to being in unfamiliar places. however, after we moved their castle into the enclosure so that there would be something familiar and a place to hide, she quickly took to liking it. :)

bezonis iom da tempo por ili alkutimiĝu al la fermitejo..... precipe por Fae, kiu verŝajne ne facile alkutimiĝas al nekontataj lokoj. tamen, kiam ni movis ilian kastelon en la fermitejon por ke ili havu ion konatan kaj ejon por sin kaŝi, Fae rapide alkutimiĝis kaj ekŝatis ĝin. :)

the enclosure was a bit tricky to put together (definitely need 2 people), but it's very well designed. it even has a built-in hammock and it wasn't as expensive as most other enclosures.

estis iomete malfacile kunigi la fermitejon (certe 2 homoj estas necesaj), sed ĝi estas ege bone dizajnita. ĝi eĉ inkluzas hamakon kaj ĝi ne estis tiel multekosta kiel aliaj fermitejoj.

eventually Fae was so happy that she started doing cat yoga on the castle! she does cat yoga when she's happy. :))	post iom da tempo Fae tiel feliĉiĝis, ke ŝi faris kat-jogon sur la kastelo! ŝi kat-jogon faras kiam ŝi estas feliĉa. :))
this morning they spent almost 3hrs outside with seemingly no desire to come inside. definitely more outdoor photos to come in the future. :)	ĉi matene ili pasis preskaŭ 3 horojn ekstere kaj verŝajne tute ne deziris veni en la apartamenton. sendube pli da fotoj eksteraj estos blogitaj estontece. :)

enough with the walls of text! this post is going to be photo-heavy, so sorry to anyone with a slow internet connection. today Iggy got to explore the whole apartment for the first time! he was very nervous at first because he didn't know where Fae was until we showed him, but things went very well after that. :)

jam sufiĉas la teksto-plenigitaj blogaĵoj! ĉi tiu blogaĵo estos plenplena da fotoj, do pardonon al tiuj, kiuj havas malrapidan interreton. hodiaŭ Iggy povis esplori la tutan apartamenton unuafoje! unue li estis tre nervoza ĉar li ne sciis, kie estis Fae ĝis kiam ni ŝin montris al li. tamen, post tio ĉio bonege iris. :)

balcony adventures / balkonaj aventuroj

Fae's getting better and better at wearing her harness. she even lets me put it on without hassle and then patiently waits for me to take it off when she comes back in. :) yesterday she explored the balcony twice and then again two more times today. maybe we'll be able to take her to a park sooner than i thought!

Fae fariĝas pli kaj pli bona pri surhavi jungilaron. ŝi eĉ permesas al mi vesti ŝin per ĝi senplendante kaj ŝi pacience atendas ĝis mi malvestas ŝin poste. :) hieraŭ ŝi dufoje esploris la balkonon kaj denove hodiaŭ dufoje ŝi esploris. eble ni povos ŝin porti al parko pli baldaŭ ol mi unue pensis!

but Fae, why just gaze out the window when you can GO outside? wearing a harness, of course. here, let me help you put it on..... i'll post the photos tomorrow.

harness "training" / "trejnado" pri jungilaro

Fae was alright with wearing the harness for a few minutes before the "WTF?" set in. in those few minutes she got to explore the balcony while on a leash, which she did veeeerry cautiously before freezing in one spot. i picked her up and showed her a bit more from the safety of my arms and then brought her back inside where she proceeded to try everything to get the harness off. i think her first time with the harness was a success (or at least not a failure) and maybe one day she'll get to come to a park with us! :)

la jungilaro ne tro ĝenis Fae-n ĝis post kelkaj minutoj kaj tiam ŝi verŝajne ekpensis "kio diable estas ĉi tio?!" sed antaŭ ol ŝi sentis sin ĝenegita, ŝi atenteeeege esploris la balkonon. kompreneble mi ligis la jungilaron al tirŝnuro antaŭ ol ŝi balkonen iris. :p post nur 1-2 minutoj sur la balkono ŝi fikse staris pro timo, do mi prenis ŝin en la brakojn kaj montris al ŝi la balkonon antaŭ ol iri en la apartamenton. tuj post tio ŝi freneziĝis pro la jungilaro, sed mi opinias, ke ĉi tiu unua sperto kun la jungilaro estis sukceso (aŭ almenaŭ ne malsukceso). :) eble iutage Fae povos promenadi kun ni ĉe parko!

she still goes back to her box at times, but she's definitely more confident now. she goes wherever she pleases.

ŝi ankoraŭ ree iras en sian skatolon, sed nun ŝi ja estas pli memfida. ŝi iras al ien ajn, kie plaĉas al ŝi.
